Barrel-Strength Private Barrel #OSP1 (Lightly Peated)
Private Barrel OSP1 is a blend of 10-gallon lightly peated bourbon barrels aged 8 years, then transferred into a 53-gallon barrel for another 18 months. At 158.2 proof, this is a serious whiskey. Although technically from an early variant of our peated bourbon mashbill, any peat character is nearly undiscernible and is heavily overshadowed by wood influence. Black labels represent the top 1% of our inventory that our blenders find exceptional for one reason or another. With a hazmat proof and an 8-year age statement, this bottle certainly fits the bill.

Pot Distilled
Traditional Techniques
Kings County embraces a variety of whiskey cultures and blends them into creative, distinctive whiskeys. We distill for quality over yield using true pot stills manufacturer in Scotland (Forsyths) and Kentucky (Vendome).
Mashbill
We source directly from farmers in NY and maltsters in the UK because we believe that good choices start from the very beginning. We source our grains locally in NY when we can because we believe distinctive ingredients make better whiskey. Here's a breakdown of what grains goes into making this product.

75% Corn
We source our corn from Lakeview Organic. The same farmer we've been using since day one. Klass and Mary-Howell Martens have cultivated a generational farm that grows 100% organic, non-GMO corn right here in the state in the Fingerlakes region.

12.5% Peated Barley & 12.5% Golden Promise
This mixed malt mashbill includes our peated barley and golden promise barley, both from the UK-based Thomas Fawcett Maltsters. Our high-malt mashbill borrows more from Scotch whiskey than traditional bourbons who typically add a flavoring grain such as rye or wheat.
