Whiskey Tasting Classes
Outside of tours, we also offer guided whiskey tastings. Guests will learn the fascinating history of whiskey, as they sip along with one of our specially created flights.
Tastings also cover the production process, and take an in-depth look at barrel aging and blending. Our expert hosts will reveal the secrets of the pros as they teach you how to nose, taste, and evaluate a whiskey like a distiller.
Empire Rye Tour (Oct 25 & 26)
In celebration of Rye Week, Kings County Distillery is hosting a special tour all about rye! Learn about how Kings County Distillery became one of the original New York distilleries to offer Empire Rye as a distinct product of New York State. Stand on the distillery floor and learn more about the science and magic of mashing, fermentation and pot distillation. Take in the angel's share in our barrel room and find out how the spirit is mellowed by the oak while it picks up all its color and develops deeper flavors.
Dead Distillers Halloween Tour (Oct 31 & Nov 2)
Come celebrate Halloween at Kings County Distillery and join us on a special evening tour of the distillery as we dive in to the fascinating and sometimes gruesome history of distilling in the United States.
Based on the book by our founders, Colin Spoelman and David Haskell, the Dead Distillers Tour details the upstarts and outlaws who put American distilling on the map. The tour ends with a tasting of five of our core products.
