Kings County Distillery is among the very first craft distillers to release a style of whiskey that can be considered the highest class of American Whiskey. Bottled-in-Bond is a designation that refers to American whiskeys (and some brandies) that are distilled, aged, and bottled entirely at one distillery, from barrels filled in one season, by one distiller. Furthermore, the whiskey must be at least four years old and bottled at precisely 100 proof. In the old days, this was a way to protect the consumer from brands that were merely bottling up whiskey from other distilleries and blending or adulterating that whiskey. In an era when consumers still sometimes have a hard time knowing exactly where their whiskeys actually come from, bottled-in-bond best expresses the advantages we enjoy by making all our whiskey in-house from grain to bottle.

This fall 2025 release is a 9-year-old black label distillery-exclusive bourbon with our high-malt mashbill. A single barrel from the Fall 2015 distilling season, this barrel has aged for 20 seasons (bottled-in-bond designates two seasons: Spring and Fall). As our Bottled-in-Bond has evolved to showcase the best of our aged inventory that shows well at lower proof, this is one of the highlights of the category from any distillery. A nose of layered oak with tart cherry, white tea, cranberry biscotti, gives way to a rich palate of Pomegranate, sponge cake, Tahitian vanilla bean, vine fruit, and a warming finish of almond, lanolin, and balanced tannins. Black label whiskeys represent the top 1% of our inventory, and this Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Single Barrel is exceptional and rare.

Manhattan

The Manhattan is the best of the whiskey drinks. It's essentially a bourbon martini, a potent libation to be consumed judiciously. Like whiskey, vermouth is having an American renaissance, and there are great options local to much of the country. At the Gatehouses, we use NY producer Little City for our vermouth. We prefer a perfect build, using both sweet & dry vermouth.

- 2 ounces Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
- 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
- 3 dashes aromatic bitters
- stir in a mixing glass & serve in a coupe glass. garnish with a brandied cherry
